Delft was the last city I visited in Holland, but it was actually my favourite. It’s one of the cities known for producing beautiful pottery know has Delftware, perhaps their most famous pieces are the cute little houses people can get on the KLM planes (Would definitely recommend to get a few for yourself!) However, that’s not the only beautiful thing that can be found in this small Dutch city.
There is so much culture captivated in every building, from old churches to streets followed by houses right after each other. There are traditions still continued by the local people who are very proud of their country and city. As always, food is amazing and I highly recommend you walk a bit further from the center to find the tasty local restaurants.
One thing I love about European cities is that they always have some sort of markets during the weekend. We were lucky enough to visit Delft when their markets were open. There are so many things you can get, you can spend hours searching and walking through them all. I got myself some typical snacks like Stroopwafles and some pieces of art to remind me of my trip to Delft. Who doesn’t love a sweet treat for the ride back home and a new painting on the wall?
For the outfit, I got to wear a new vintage shirt I got at one of the vintage stores in Amsterdam, with a normal pair of shorts by Pull & Bear. I love bringing a couple pairs of shorts on vacation and just mix and match them with different tops, which is great when space is very limited!
Instead of flying in Business class to get those little houses, come to Delft and see the beauty for yourself!
So many flowers at the Markets it’s unbelievable!
A few paintings of an Artist at the Market selling his Art
Sitting in a huge Klomp, a clog from the Netherlands, which is still worn everyday in some places especially in the countryside
Love the houses around Holland. Dreaming of getting one when I’m old!
The Delft City Hall, where a couple got married on the day we visited!
In the middle of the main Square in front of the Old Church
A perfectly dressed tour guide explaining her city and it’s culture to others
Canals, Trees, and Flowers are filled all over this beautiful city!
Many Pieces from the Poetry Market!
And here are the famous house pieces from Delftware, also known as Delft Blue, that are still given out on KLM Business Class flights. The houses are actually replica’s of real houses around the Netherlands!
I fell INLOVE with goat cheese salad’s in Holland. So delicious the cheese just melts in my mouth!
The full view of my family’s lunch at a local restaurant in Delft (forgot it’s name!)
