I have published 5 posts on Vienna recently
but this post is just a summary of Vienna. Vienna is a beautiful city that I think everyone should visit one day. There is so much to see and do in Vienna, that you will never get bored! The First District is already crazy enough and there is lots to do only there, which you can learn more about in my post: http://www.niedsano.com/first-district-of-vienna-stephansdom/
Other highlights of Vienna are the Prater which is a large amusement park filled with many rides, some of them completely insane, as well as the Wiener Riesenrad. Of course there are also countless amount of museums and many are located in The Museumsquartier, which you can read more about here: http://www.niedsano.com/stripes-break-the-rules-like-an-artist/
Then of course there is the beautiful belvedere where the painting “The Kiss” by Gustav Klimt is located, which you can read more about here: http://www.niedsano.com/black-at-belvedere/
Something new that was just recently opened in the first district is the Time Travel, which was very amusing. I greatly recommend it for younger kids and if you want to get your mother scared (as there is a 5D movie involved). The food is also fantastic with many different restaurant but one that is very good located in the first district is called Der Schwarze Kamel. Being a horse riding and horse lover I was at the Spanish Riding School in Vienna (in German called Spanische Hofreitschule in Vienna) both times. The first time I watched a training session and this time I watched a small show. It has always been a wish of mine to see a real show by the Spanische Hofreitschule in Vienna and it’s still something on my bucket list that is not checked off.. yet. But during the summer they are on holiday, meaning that most of their horses are away so they don’t have any real shows. The same goes for the Vienna Opera house in the summer. They only carry out tours of the facilities. There is always something going on in Vienna and it’s a great place for young people. It has actual been said to be if not the best, cities for young people.
-According to this American ranking platform website Vienna is the #1 city for young people:
saying “Vienna, Austria: “The City of Dreams” or “The City of Music” has almost everything young people would probably be looking for in a city. It’s history, culture, economy, environment, and just the fact that it’s the most livable city in the world clinches the #1 spot.”
-According to the Business Insider Vienna has been ranked as the number one city with highest quality of life for the fourth consecutive year and states many reasons to prove why (this website is great!): http://www.businessinsider.com/what-life-is-like-in-vienna-2013-1?op=1
My mom has already told my siblings and me that when we leave to collage she will come visit us and that one of us has to study in New York, one in Rome and one in Vienna. Vienna or as many call it “The City of Dreams”, is a place worth visiting and being the capital of Austria, it makes me even prouder to be Austrian!
