Outside the Box

When I was a little girl, my mother told me that it’s better to be a black sheep in the middle of all the white. It’s an old Russian saying that is interpreted around the world. At that time, I didn’t quite understand, but now as I’m getting older I acknowledge it’s meaning. It’s cheesy, but it’s true. Those who succeed are often times the people who stand out in a crowd. It’s easy to stand with the crowd, but it takes courage to stand alone.

That is one thing I love about fashion, that you can dress the way you want and express your uniqueness through clothes. You are your own fashionista and trendsetter. With that, I love being unique and find different creative ways to dress. As my teachers use to say, “think outside the box”, and today i decided to show you guys that something that is usually worn at home, can be your fashion ticket out on the streets.

I decided to wear one of my favourite bathrobes. Who said a bathrobe can’t be worn as coat or dress? It has been seen in the past, famous celebrities and bloggers wearing their fashionable bathrobes as a spring jacket or mini dress. One of the major trends going around at the moment are slip dresses and pyjamas. Some of the major names like Calvin Klein, Givenchy, and CĂ©line have showed us on the catwalk that it’s totally okay and even stylish to wear your silk pyjama out in the day, or even as a night gown like Rosie Huntington-Whiteley did so wonderfully. This goes the same for bathrobes, where with the right shoes and accessories, it can truly be the ” it outfit” of the night or day. So don’t be scared and be a little creative. You might be the only one, but take the courage to stand out. Be the black sheep! With the wise words of my idol, Coco Chanel, in order to be irreplaceable one must always be different.
