Escaping the AD heat

My first stop this summer is Brussels, the capital of Belgium. Since my grandparents live here, my family and I try to pay a visit at least once a year. It’s such a beautiful city, so green yet very cold compared to Abu Dhabi. This past week hasn’t been warmer than 16 degrees, which is a huge change to Abu Dhabi’s daily 43 degrees weather. It’s been raining everyday with the sun shining no more than 5 minutes, which is quite extraordinary and pleasing to see for a person who lives in the desert!

With this cold weather, I finally get to wear my favourite warm clothes that include raincoats, boots, and umbrellas! When packing, I didn’t imagine Brussels to be this cold so I packed mostly summer clothes like shorts and spaghetti strapped shirts, which will be useful in Spain. So here is a packing tip from Niedsano, make sure to check the weather forecast of the city you are travelling to!

Despite the rain and the chilly weather, I still got a chance to leave the house and go for a walk around the city before watching the Belgium-Hungary Euro Cup match. As a raincoat, I wore my leather Bebe jacket, a simple Zara stripped shirt, warm leggings, and black platform boats from Mia Donna, which are ideal against the rain. This simple outfit is perfect for a day out in the city and later an evening spent at the bar watching a football match with crazy Belgian fans! After a walk around the city, finding cool spots with graffiti and seeing the panorama of Brussels, we made a quick stop at a unique restaurant to have some good Belgian burgers and fries, something that I’ve missed so much. Here’s to more Niedsano adventures in the rain!
