Verona. O Fair Verona. Where the story of Romeo and Juliet became reality. Verona is a small but fascinating city. It is located in northern Italy and has 265,000 inhabitants. My family and I were only there for three days, and with our hotel located in the center, right next to the Arena we spent our time there. Day one: we did a big bus tour, which is always a good idea. Day two: we went to the house of Juliet, which is in a way the symbol and most touristic attraction in Verona. We also went shopping, as the streets are great for shopping and the market is also cute. At night we went to the four-hour Opera Aida. Day three: we slept in and then walked around a little before deciding to head home. Everyday: we had great food and Gelato. Verona was a short trip that was very much worth while.
“Two households, both alike in dignity
In fair Verona, where we lay our scene
From ancient grudge break to new mutiny
Where civil blood makes civil hands unclean.
From forth the fatal loins of these two foes
A pair of star-cross’d lovers take their life
Whose misadventured piteous overthrows
Do with their death bury their parents’ strife.”
“Italy is a dream that keeps returning for the rest of your life.”
