What’s better than being surrounded with high fashion in a magical city that never sleeps? New York fashion week is one of the biggest events of the year in the world of fashion. This is the time where the top designers show off their new collections for the up coming season. Right now, the spring/summer collection for 2015 is being released and I’m just amazed at the incredible different pieces that have so far been shown off on the catwalk. I want to have them all in my closet! Imagine sitting in the front row with celebrities on each side of your line while looking at the newest clothes passing by you continuously. It would be a dream come true to be able to have the opportunity of witnessing a live fashion show and not having to watch it from the TV in the living room. New York City is one of the top cities known for fashion. Many people want to go to the fashion shows because they are a big part of the fashion culture in the big city. When designers have the catwalk to themselves to present their latest works, they can create anything they want. For example, decorating the setting, organizing the music, use different lighting, and deciding the overall display of the catwalk. Basically the catwalk is like a stage for a designer. Some designers keep it simple while others go over the top to really have their fashion show be memorable. One of my favorite designers, Ralph Lauren, created a hologram show in central park. His polo collection was displayed through holographic images that showed the models walking up and down the catwalk. Many other fashion lines such as Calvin Klein, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Hugo Boss, Michael Kors, Versus Versace, and Diane Von Furstenberg showed of their 2015 spring/summer collections. “Every year the women of New York leave the past behind and look forward to the future… this is known as Fashion Week.” Life is too short to wear clothes you don’t like or clothes that don’t show who you are. Wear clothes that define you and live life to the fullest.
Here are some of my favorite picks from the New York Fashion week:
Kendall Jenner wearing a dress from the Diane Von Furstenberg collection
Two beautiful dresses by Lela Rose-
A dress from the new spring/summer collection of Carolina Herrera
Another gorgeous dress by designer Reem Acra
Gowns are in style right now, just like these two beautiful gowns by Zac Posen
This Calvin Klein knitted jacket is perfect for a day out in town when it’s a little bit chill
These three dresses give you a look into the spring/summer collection of Michael Kors that brings you back into the fifties. Between the three, my favorite dress is the right one because it is simple yet so elegant. I can wear it to the mall, a lunch date, or even just for a walk around town.
This dress by Oscar de la Renta is just breathtaking. I love the combination of the black and white as well as the gorgeous patter at the end of the dress. It brings fashion on a whole new mature level.
Just by looking at this dress, I can’t wait till spring comes back! The pattern of the green leaves on top of the white base color combined with simple white flowers is the perfect look for spring/summer. The heels are also very cute, especially with this dress. Oscar de la Renta created something so beautiful once again.
Tommy Hilfiger’s fashion show was very playful and colorful. The looks were all perfect for spring/summer because of their bright colors and crazy patterns. His collection enhanced the age of being young, happy, and stylish. To those that are done with their teenage years can wear his clothes and remember the great time back in the days. Out of the six outfits, the one I liked most is the jacket that has different shades of blue paired with the same kind of shorts. It’s cute but also stylish because of the color combination between the shades of blue and the square patterns.
