Lost in Neverland

Before leaving for Summer away from the Abu Dhabi heat, I got to be apart of a fun project with an amazing rising photographer named Sophia Scholz, founder of The Visual Difference. This type of photo shoot was different from the one’s I’ve had before, so I was very excited to work in a different environment and see the final results. I’m always up for a change and surprise!

For the first part of our photo shoot, we decided to go somewhere different and unique in Abu Dhabi, a place only few can find, making the setting of the photos even more mysterious and unusual. Our theme for the photos was lost in the after world, an angel lost in neverland. This idea sprung from our first few shots, where my full black outfit contrasted against the colourful and light wings drawn on the walls behind me. It looked as if I was a person lost in an unfamiliar and colourful world, trying to find my new self.

I‘m very proud of the final pictures, even though on the day of the shoot, it was over 43 degrees Celsius and my feet were killing me from the burning sand and thorns found EVERYWHERE! On the other hand, I think the dress, which was custom made a few years ago, was perfect for this setting and complimented the vibrant graffiti behind me harmoniously, keeping the viewers away from losing focus when looking at the photographs.

Sophia is such a wonderful person to work with and I highly recommend you to follow her @thevisualdifference page as she has so much potential along with her outstanding photographs. Make sure to also keep checking Niedsano and Niedsano’s Instagram to find out when Part 2 of this collaboration will be up! I hope you like the photos as much as Sophia and I had fun taking them!

Love,

Anastasia
