On the last day of Fashion Forward I sadly only got to go to two presentations and one catwalk show because I was leaving that same night to Russia from Abu Dhabi. Regardless of that, my sister and I took full advantage of the day and did everything we wanted to do one last time. We took photos in almost all the places; at the pepsi lounge with our free frozen yogurts, with the swings at the park area, with the hashtag sign, and even got a photo with one of my favorite fashion bloggers in Dubai, Shoestova! I got to speak Russian with the very sweet Natalia who happily took a photo with us.
The weather was also perfect that day and there was no sign of rain, which meant I got wear my chiffon dress as my final outfit to the Dubai Fashion Week. My green dress was from a boutique store in Italy, my heels were from Michael Kors, belt from Lanvin, and I completed the outfit with an orange camel wool shawl.
After three days filled with catwalk shows and interesting presentations, I was thrilled I got the chance to come to this amazing event. It was something new for me and something I wanted to explore, and because of it I now know that I would love to work in the Fashion industry. I got to meet some pretty cool people and also got a glimpse at the Dubai street style, which was absolutely amazing that I was even surprised at some outfits (and slightly jealous!). Fashion Forward happens twice a year, in April and October, so if you get the chance to go, I highly recommend it. It’s the platform for regional designers to showcase their designs and a place the people can view the newest trends right before their eyes. I can’t wait for the next season of Fashion Forward Dubai!
Nasiba Hafiz presented a collection with vibrant prints and bright colours. The presentation of the clothes was excellent and I liked the different clothing fabrics used that add a variation in this collection. It’s a very unique clothing line that is perfect for those who want to be extraordinary and standout from the crowd with it’s popping colours.
Three Fifty Nine
This collection had a futuristic aura to it, with it’s vibrant colours, different geometric shapes, and it’s techno like music playing in the background. I felt like I was looking at the fashion in the near future. The clothes themselves were very unique and captivating. I loved the vibrant colours and the mixture between warm and cold tones. My favorite pieces were the skirts with their special designs and the crop top that matches the skirt. It’s vibrant, it’s unique, and it’s something new.
Kage had a number of different textures and prints of specific things, such as cats and flowers. It’s simple and modern due to the prints but classy. The clothes are also very well made and some you can wear to either a business meeting or out on a date. It’s a very cute collection too and is aesthetically pleasing. There were three parts to this collection, one with the flower prints that used more warmer tones, second that had different shades of grey, and the last part with the cat prints that had more colder tones.
