School work has started to cool down after my mock exams, which means I have more time to do what I love most, blog here on Niedsano! Niedsano isn’t only a fashion blog, but also a travel blog where I share my adventures. This post is dedicated to an adventure I had at the start of the year to a place in the middle of nowhere in between Dubai and Abu Dhabi called Fossil Rock. The place is filled with fossils of sea creatures and shells that were on the ocean floor millions of years ago when water was actually found in the Middle East.
The place itself is so beautiful. We set off early morning in order to get there at a time that wasn’t too hot, but what did we expect, it was still extremely hot. As a group, we walked from where we parked our car to all the way up to the fossil rocks. Other than getting third degree burns under our feet, we also had to carry everything that we brought with us: our bags, food, speakers, and a football that everyone wanted to leave behind. So here’s tip #1: always pack light, and #2: make sure you wear appropriate shoes for the desert where sand can’t get inside.
On the way up, I was also boiling in the clothes I chose to wear. (Isn’t a velvet skirt and a black top the perfect combo for the desert though?!) So #3: dress in comfortable, open, and light colored clothes. I would also recommend a hat!
Finally when we got up there, we didn’t have enough water. Tip #4: pack water if you don’t want to die! Instead of bringing pancakes like I did, thinking we would have a cute breakfast at the top, bring light snacks like chips, cookies, or granola bars.
Regardless of the heat and sweat, the view from the top of the rocks was incredible and totally worth it! Tip #5: Put the phone or camera down and just take a few moments to enjoy not only the view but life in general.
Fossil Rock was another incredible hidden gem and definitely worth the (third degree and sun) burns! Here are a few of my favorite shots from my mini adventure.
