Abu Dhabi ins’t only a city known for it’s beautiful structures, warm beaches, and never ending shopping. It’s also a city that is filled with love, art and music. Over the past few years, Abu Dhabi has been trying to increase the number of art museums and exhibitions in the city, creating welcoming places or both non-artists and artists to enjoy beautiful artworks. People can view extraordinary things which can open up different perspectives and view points. It’s interesting how different artists portray their versions of words and emotions like love, happiness, sadness, hate, and peace.
Manarat Al Saadiyat has one of the largest art galleries in Abu Dhabi, where every year many exhibitions take place. This year I was lucky enough to view the Modern and Contemporary art exhibitions there, only open for four days. Some of the pieces were so beautiful and unique. All the artists were so talented, each artist in different area’s. Admiring peoples works and seeing what people around the world produce really opens up my view point on how people can be so talented and creative, producing masterpieces. Like Pablo Picasso once said, ” Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up. These grown up artists really proved how one can express emotion, power, and individual voice through art. The only bad part was that I wish I got to stay a little bit longer to really view each piece properly and talk to the artists themselves. If there is an art exhibition happening in the city you live in or a city you are visiting, definitely save some time to take a visit to see some unique and beautiful pieces of art. You never know what may inspire you along the way.
To the exhibition, I wore my Zara jumpsuit, which had a really beautiful cut along the back side and a combination of a white and a dark green colour that I loved. I paired the jumpsuit with white Jessica Simpson heels and a colourful Indian clutch that I got at a market in India last month. I like adding a bit of colour and wearing an accessory that stands out from the other parts of the outfit to create this unique twist to a simple outfit. For a “smart casual” event, a simple jumpsuit and a pair of heels can work just perfectly.
